About The Archbishop

EARLY CHILDHOOD
Archbishop Dr. Ogbuji Igwe Ogbuji was born on the 4th of September, 1943 to late Mr. Daniel Igwe Ogbuji and Mrs Jane Igwe of Ozu-Abam in Arochukwu Local Government Area of Abia State. His father had fifteen (15) children altogether from the wives he married before his death. His mother at ninety three (93) years of age is still alive and healthy. At age six (1949) the then little boy, Ogbuji Igwe Ogbuji was made to leave home and live with an uncle who was a very strict teacher until 1953 before he came back home.

EDUCATION
By 1962 he had completed his primary and technical education. Worthy of note is that he was among the very first set of students who sat for the West Africa School Leaving Certificate and also of the seven students who passed the examination successfully in a class of 42 students. He thereafter proceeded for his technical school education at Enugu where he trained as an automobile engineer. He also completed the l C S regional school of London studies in 1964.

LIFE BEFORE THE CALL TO MINISTRY
His first working experience was with West Africa Schlumberger in Port Harcourt, contractor to shell in 1965. He worked there until the Nigeria Civil war when he had to join the Biafia Army in late 1968, where he was drafted into the infantry division as an army engineer to drive armoured vehicle. He almost lost his life in one operation of conveying arms and ammunitions where he was badly wounded and remained in the hospital until the war was over. Probably, the reason God rescued him from death in that incident was because of this work of the ministry, as a special instrument.

RELIGIOUS UPBRINGING
Archbishop Dr. Ogbuji was born and brought up in the Presbyterian church but became converted to Jehovah's Witness in 1958. As a result of a serious poisoning, he was later introduced to CAC in 1962 where he was miraculously healed. However, CAC didn't meet his expectations when he relocated to Warri, so he joined GKS until he met his wife, Miss Comfort and got married in 1970.
The problem of child bearing later moved him and his wife from GKS to join Jesus Revolutionary church where his quest for child bearing was finally answered. He continued and worshiped there as an Elder/Minister until God called him into full time ministry.
